Plotlines entwine to absorbing effect May 12, 2007 Star_Sea (Salisbury, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This volume advances a lot of the plotlines previously introduced: Tohru tries to find out how to break the curse, much to Rin's chagrin; Haru confronts Rin about her behaviour (the [...] tension between these two is HOT); Yuki gets to know the other student council members a little better (the most boring part of the storyline for me); and Kyo finally talks to Kagura, so you find out how their relationship started. There are quite a lot of dark moments, but Ayame, the ill-matched student council members, Uo-chan and Hana-chan help keep things light (Hana's crush on Kyo's father is extremely amusing).
Takaya has still got it! March 14, 2006 Sarah Purnell 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Vol 12 is a great continuation of the story! It gave me butterflies in my stomach and left me wanting more. More focus on the fiesty female that is Rin and lots of Haru action which we like! Of course there's the usual banter between the men of the house and Tohru's ditziness is still there (thank god). Beautifully drawn and a pace quickening storyline. xxx
The fruit keeps on coming... February 5, 2006 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
While the main story is often shadowed by character delevopment and lessons in life, Fruits Basket still has the same appeal as it did from the first issue. Most of this volume focuses on newcomer member of the Zodiac, Rin the Horse. There are also some back stories on Toryu and Shigure. The ususal humour is there too.
