The Prodigal Son January 29, 2007 D. Briggs (HA, Middx) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought this film was excellent - the worship was good and just to see how it started, how he lost his way and then found it I thoroughly enjoyed
Good story, great music! November 2, 2006 R. Ansell (Wales, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed this film, sure it wasn't an Oscar winner but then very few Christian bias films are! The story is really that of the prodigal son returning after his time away living it up. The film looks at issues surrounding Christians and the temptations & arguments they face on a daily basis. What I love about this film is the fact that the son is given the chance to redeem himself, I am sure some religous people would never have a 'sinner' at the front of church involved in worship but the truth is that the Father welcomes the son and restores him back to his position...isn't that what Jesus preached. Anyways, the full versions of the songs on the DVD are great, the storyline is good & the acting sufficient. All in all a feel good movie worth watching, I'm sure faults can be found in it but it is hard to portray the Christian live in all its facets!
Superb, honest and uplifiting! October 19, 2006 B. Hull (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I thought this film was fantastic. I'm writing from a Christian point of view on this. But I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the many issues Christians face, and the problems that can occur in Churches, in an incredibly well made film. The acting was good. It wasn't award winning acting, but it was by no means bad. It's an excellent video, that Christians can enjoy, without cringing. This video is down to earth, and realistic, but at the same time is full of hope and redemption. I don't know if a non-christian would be able to relate to what happens in this video, but the story is still worth seeing, and still entertaining.
Very Good July 19, 2006 M. A. Clarke (London, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought this movie really captured the policics that can happen within the modern-day gospel church. It also had some original story lines not to mention a fantastic current gospel cast. I love the song Victory by Yolanda Adams. You will not be disappointed. A great movie!!!
